Using ReceiptBuddy.

These terms govern your use of ReceiptBuddy, operated by Arlington North LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and provide an email address you control. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been accessed by someone else. One person or business per account unless we agree otherwise in writing.

What the service does

ReceiptBuddy stores receipt images and PDFs you upload, reads details from them automatically, and lets you organize, search, report on, and export those records.

Automatic reading is a starting point, not an answer

Text recognition is imperfect. Faded print, poor lighting, unusual layouts, and ambiguous dates are read incorrectly or not at all. Where a date could be read two ways — 07/08/2026 is 7 August in much of the world and 8 July in the United States — we make our best guess and tell you we guessed. Where a currency is not printed explicitly, we leave it blank rather than assume one.

You are responsible for checking every detail before relying on it. Your original file is always kept so you can check it against what we read.

This is not tax, accounting, or legal advice

ReceiptBuddy is a record-keeping tool. It does not determine what is deductible, calculate your taxes, or substitute for an accountant. Totals and exports reflect what you entered and confirmed. Consult a qualified professional about your own situation.

Your content

Your receipts and the details you enter remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service for you: to store, process, display back to you, generate previews, read text from your files, and produce your exports. We claim no ownership, and we do not use your content to train machine-learning models or share it for advertising.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.

Acceptable use

Do not use ReceiptBuddy to store unlawful content, to upload malware or files designed to attack the service or other users, to attempt to access another account, to probe or disrupt our infrastructure, or to resell the service. Automated bulk uploading beyond ordinary personal or business use may be rate-limited.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We perform maintenance, and outages at our hosting or email providers will affect us. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a period to export your records.

Fees

Paid plans, if offered to you, are billed in advance at the price shown when you subscribe. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law or where we state otherwise. You can cancel at any time and will keep access through the end of the paid period. We will give notice before a price change takes effect.

Ending your account

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion starts a 30-day grace period, after which your receipts and files are permanently removed. Export anything you want to keep first. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or that we must act on for legal reasons.

Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of recognized text. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost records, lost deductions, or lost profits.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Use the export feature.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you at your account email address or in the application before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located there.
